where I am today

I have the ability to instantly traverse thousands of miles and transcend boundaries to teleport anywhere, right now. To follow, simply:
1. Close your eyes
2. Let your spirit carry you

Boston, MA

Today,

Outside the large bay windows I’m looking through, I can see the streets of Boston, fringed with slushy snow and marked with sweater-clad people walking without a sideways glance at anyone else. The sky is clouded over, white and gray clouds casting a chilly breeze over the city. The scene is cast in dull, neutral colors, people’s scarves and gloves brown, dark purple and black.

A delicious aroma of peppermint hot cocoa wafts from a maroon and orange coffee mug, gently curved to fit my hands. Warmth seeps from the ceramic and flows from the top of the chocolate drink. I lean back in my chair, a part of a quaint set that matches the little round table in front of me. Ambient conversation washes over the senses- background noise in a downtown cafe. The atmosphere is warm and touched with the scent of fresh pastries, coffee, and other hot drinks. A long glass counter displays goodies glazed, sprinkled and powdered, behind it hangs a chalkboard showing the daily specials in curving font.

Daily life continues, each entity passing by the other quietly, while a silent observer pauses to soak it all in.

Thailand, the Pacific

Today,

I’m swimming through crystalline turquoise waters, perfectly clear, the sky a continuation of endless azure blue, sunlight gleaming off the surface of the shallow ocean. Patterns of light stream through the saltwater, tracing wavy designs on the sandy bottom. Rainbow fish dart around outcrops of alien plant life as I approach them. Palm trees and rocky islands frame my vision, and the air smells fresh and tropical, of sand and sun and sea.

There is nothing but the feeling of the water against my skin and of my muscles moving through the water, just the sound of my own heartbeat in my ears. Clusters of bubbles drift in slow-motion, tiny shimmering droplets containing shining reflections of the sun.

An isolated piece of paradise, undisturbed by human touch.
